A billionaire Arab sheikh has had his name carved into the sand of his private island — so big, it’s visible from space. These pictures from Google Earth satellites show the name workmen carved at the request of Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, a member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. It’s located on the island Al Futaisi in the United Arab Emirates. The Sun broke the story, explaining just how huge the graffiti is. “The name is two miles across — with letters a kilometre high. It is so huge that the ‘H’, the first ‘A’ and part of the ‘M’ have been made into waterways.” So who has the funds to blow on such extravagance? The Atlantic Wire offers some hints. “The 63-year-old Hamad, it turns out, seems to live by the motto ‘go big or go home.’…Hamad’s Emirates National Auto Museum features a ‘custom-built globe-shaped motor home said to be one-millionth the size of the Earth itself’ and a pyramid housing his vast car collection. And the man nicknamed “Rainbow Sheikh”for his many-colored cars has one more larger-than-life title– he’s built the world’s largest truck. Eric Scott the World Famous Go Fast Jet Pack Man today (10th May) set another fastest speed world record on a jet pack. Eric managed to achieve a staggering 68mph compared to his first attempt on Friday of only 43mph. An exciting and unexpected drag race also took place today against Go Fast Jet Pack man Eric and BTCC champion Gordon Shedden in a 2009 Ford Focus RS vs. the Nitro Jet pack. At the finishing line Eric managed to gain a marginal winning distance over Gordon. Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2009

Make sure you watch in HD!! This is a video of most of the footage I took at this years Easter Jeep Safari 2009 in Moab, UT. The first trail we hit was Hells Revenge. I hit the big wall first, then Escalator for the first time and got up with only a small scratch on the rear passenger fender. We then went up tot the hottubs and I tried all of them. I got up mid-sized one (Mickeys I believe, not in video) without slipping a tire but could not make it up the huge one. The next day we hit Area BFE we first hit Green day which was a very tough trail but I made it through. After that we hit Minor Threat which wasn’t very minor at all (not in video). The next day we made it out to Pritchett Canyon. I tried every obstacle there but since it was muddy from the rain the night before it made some things a bit tougher than usual. At the first set of ledges I tried the biggest ledge but didn’t have enough clearance to make it so i took on one of the smaller ledges. Next we hit the next few hill cimbs with minor troubles. Then we came to Yellow Hill which I made up fairly easily until the last ledge and my pass rear tire fell into a hole which made me a bit tippy. We threw a small rock in the hole and I made it up fine. Next up was Rock Pile, which is basically a huge wall. I didn’t make it because my rear tow hook kept dragging and also as soon as my jeep got to vertical the auto tranny would slip out of gear because all of the fluid would go to the back of the tranny. Before hatin on me and stuff, i know i dont have lowest car in the world, but still my car is pretty low! About 4cm (1.5-1.8 inch) of clearance, and drivable. The roads here in norway dont really allow to drop a car as much as this, but i dont care. I want it, i’ll do it!
