You have to download and install the actual game (Single player) of GTA San andreas..
It makes the directory for you and allows you to install SAMP

i know how to fix the problem first Rename the Grand Theft Auto folder san andreas? folder to anything, for example Grand Theft Auto 2 then rightclick SA-MP icon, choose “compatability and run in comp mode for Windows 98 / ME, and then run as admin.

@deadcowownage download the patch at the website and that will tell if it is v2 or v1. v1 is the hot coffee version. and if it wont let you install it then you must not have the disk

How do you know when your GTA SA is v1 or v2? Please reply back because when I download SA-MP it won’t let me choose my directory nor install it. So if you can help I would appreciate it. Thanks Bro! :)
